FAQ

When is it time to call an electrician?

Do you find yourself resetting circuit breakers or changing fuses too often? Do the lights dim in the room when you turn on an air conditioner, or occastionally flicker? Can you ever can smell electricity burning or do you secretly have 10 million plugs and extension cords going into a single outlet? It’s time to call us!

How long do electrical repairs take?

Often, we’ll be able to fix your residential repair in a single day. However, we’re sometimes hit with red tape; (we promise we’re not picking on you!) at times we need to file paperwork with local municipality, get permits, state inspections, etc. This can occasionally prolong things, but Norris Electrical Co. will take care of the paperwork for you and make sure you’re happy every step of the way, with expedited service to get your issue resolved as quickly and safely as possible.

What should I do if I lose power?

Take a look outside - if it looks like your neighbors are in the same boat, contact your power company and pull out the flashlights while they remedy the issue.

If it seems like you’re the only one being hit with bad luck, contact us! We’ll look into the problem and get you back up and running quickly and safely.

How do I reset a tripped circuit?

First, you’ll need to locate your breaker panel. Typically this is found in a basement or garage. If you’re in a smaller residence or apartment, this may be in a closet or hallway.

Once found, open it up and try to identify the breaker that’s been tripped. It will likely be in between the on/off positions and may be orange or red. Turn it off and on again (yes, it’s really that easy).
